Reading Community

Our class is a reading community and we would like you to join our reading community. We would like you to share some information with us about reading. Please share with us what the word "reading" means to you. We would like to know where your favorite place to read is. What genres of books are you planning to read this year? Who are some of your favorite authors? How much time do you spend reading each day? How much time do you think you should spend reading each day? Favorite Books

EarthWorks

Reflect on your field trip to EarthWorks. Write at least two things that you learned about at EarthWorks. Write what your favorite thing to do at EarthWorks was.

Halloween Pumpkin Project

Reflect on your learning after completing the Halloween Pumpkin Project. After talking to the student that read your pumpkin description, what did you learn about yourself as a writer and the description you wrote of your pumpkin? What did you learn about yourself as a reader when you tried to make another student's pumpkin after reading their description? What do you plan to do differently when we repeat this project in November, make a turkey, and write a description of it for another student to read and recreate? Did this project help you become a better writer?
